Canvas Preparation

Preparing coloured grounds on canvas' can make oil painting much easier since nothing seen is pure white. If you start your painting with a mid tone, building up subsequent layers can be much faster and more efficient.


TOOLS:

  1. Brushes
  2. Palette knives


MATERIALS:

  1. Paints
  2. Stretched canvas


PROCEDURE:   

  1. Begin by deciding what one colour best describes the general colour of the picture you're going to paint.
  2. Then mix enough of that colour to be able to cover your entire canvas.
  3. Apply the mix of colour either with a palette knife or brushes.
